林德村、林德光、林德燿，出生在苗栗獅潭鄉，三人個性敦厚耿直，有著客家傳統的硬頸精神，兄弟一起白手起家，齊心合力在新竹市經營水電工程。

本劇從祖父林開連帶領全家開始，以林德村兄弟為中心，母親徐招蘭的教育為輔，帶出林家的傳統，每一位成員就像一條繩子般緊緊的扭在一起，並且把這種精神帶到職場，影響更多人。

Born and raised in Shitan Township of Miaoli County, a predominantly Hakka area, the Lin brothers, perhaps in courtesy of their Hakka heritage, are honest, upright and strong-willed. Starting from scratch, they three brothers now run an engineering company together in Hsinchu.

The story opens with Grandpa Lin leading them all with the Lin family traditions and values, giving us an insight into the strong bonds between the family members and how they influence the people around them.
