1994年5月26日出生於澳洲布里斯本，四歲隨父母移居台灣，學習中文。六歲初次接觸圍棋，便深深為之著迷。十一歲因父親工作的調動，再隨父母移居美國聖地牙哥，雖然身處圍棋沙漠之地，但仍堅持對圍棋的夢想，每日上課之餘暇仍勤奮不懈研究圍棋，於十四歲在大陸通過定段賽，取得中國棋院的職業初段證書。 由於台灣的職業圍棋環境尚未成熟，嘉嘉在定段之後並未直接投入台灣職棋的行列。在獲知2010廣州亞運將圍棋納入比賽項目，嘉嘉決定爭取為台爭光的機會，在選拔國手之前，先到北京訓練半年，亞運女子國手選拔時第一名入圍。 嘉嘉於2010年7月投入台灣職棋之後，屢屢創造奇蹟，2010年9月獲得世界女子大賽亞軍，同年11月摘下廣州亞運女子團體圍棋銅牌，12月入選體委會年度新秀運動員精英獎。2011年1月，打進棋王賽循環圈，成為史上第一位女子循環圈晉級者。5月，打進國手賽循環圈，8月，國手賽循環圈5勝2負創下台灣女職棋循環圈保級先例。10月，海峰杯四强。11月，棋聖賽四強。2012年1月再度四連勝打進棋王賽循環圈。 Joanne Missingham is an Australian-born 6 dan professional player of the Taiwan Qiyuan. Born in Brisbane, Queensland on 26th May 1994, Missingham moved with her family to Taiwan when she was four years old, and started to play Go at the age of six. Two years later she passed the amateur 1-dan milestone., Missingham continued to progress in Go, while also pursuing her interests in gymnastics, music (piano and pipa ) and swimming. In 2005 she moved with her family to San Diego, California, USA. Being an Eurasian, her first language is Chinese, and she also speaks fluent English. Missingham took the Chinese professional exam in July 2008.,and passed the exam. Missingham left middle school temporarily to become a full-time player. In September, 2010, Missingham came second in the international female competition Bingsheng Cup, defeating Aoki Kikuyo 8p, Li He 3p and Zheng Yan 2p, but lost the final game against Park Jieun 9p. November 2011, Missingham represented Taiwan in Asian Game 2010, The female team won the bronze medal. Help us caption & translate this video!
